I love our mountain pigeons! This pair has been hanging around in the cedar tree for a couple of days. Wishing them a happy Spring!
Blooming Day has come for this cheerful one. Spring is in the air!
The Tree Swallows have returned to their summer breeding grounds. They’re gracing the skies with their aerobatic flights, and checking out nest cavities for their nurseries. Meadowlarks are pairing up, blackbirds are gathering and creating singing trees, and spring is in the air. I even had an unexpected encounter with a beautiful vulture.
What another great day at the San Jacinto Wildlife Area! Another birder with a long lens invited me to tag along to the Great Horned Owl Tree. I got a shot of Mom (which was amazing!) and then discovered that Dad was with her! I didn’t see him until I lightened the shadows in post. What a blessing!
I’m also getting to know MANY other birds on my adventures.
